ANTONELLA RICCI

Antonella Ricci was born in Ceglie Messapica, in Salento (Puglia). Her family owns the celebrated restaurant “Al fornello da Ricci” that has been open for 47 years and holds a Michelin Star since year 19. Truly Italian cuisine and its excellence is her passion: an attractive mosaic composed by a “collection” of ingredients and recipes, traditions and habits of its 20 Regions.

Antonella Ricci and Vinod Sookar, her husband, also chef and business partner, met in his country of origin, the Mauritius Islands, almost 20 years ago. Antonella is today one of the stars of Italian cuisine and for her deep knowledge for ingredients and highly qualified techniques she has been chosen to be a teacher at the Alma Cooking School nearby Parma, created by Gualtiero Marchesi. And the so called “miracle” of Ricci is that – from wherever in the world – gourmet come all the way to their small town Ceglie Messapica to enjoy the true taste of Italy.
